Who wouldn’t love a stylish, feminine and a comfortable dress to wear in this hot and humid climate? I was not into maxi dresses till I bought one for myself and now I am obsessed.

Maxi dresses are a big part of every woman’s summer wardrobe. I will tell you why they make a perfect staple-

  1. Easy to wear
  2. Huge time saver
  3. Comfortable
  4. Eat all you want.
  5. Effortlessly chic
  6. Suitable for all body types
  7. No bathroom stress.
  8. Easy to style.

There are a plenty of ways to style a maxi dress without boggling your head too much. You can just get into one, tie a bun, wear a casual footwear and step out of the house looking pretty. You can easily change your look and mood of the dress accessorizing it with jewelry, handbag/clutch, a scarf, flats/sneakers/heels, all depending on the location and the occasion. You can also think of different hairstyles to go with it. Dress it up with sparkles or dress it down with a denim jacket. You can also wear a belt around the waist for a more flattered look.

To me, it is usually sneakers or flats. If I have a long day of walking planned, then sneakers FTW!! Although for a date night I would like to wear it with an embellished footwear. In regard to accessorizing, I would like to go for a small stud and a slightly thin necklace for a casual day out and would opt for statement earrings for a night event.

Today I am sharing with you a yellow floral summer dress from Old Navy which is by far the best maxi dress I have ever owned. The only reason I got this dress was cz’ it was yellow (obviously) and second cz’ it was on SALE. The day I tried it on, I kept dancing in front of the mirror for quite a long time πŸ˜„. Love its frilly details at the bottom. It is lightweight and has an adjustable shoulder strap. It does not stick to your body and is really flowy and soft. Wearing an XS for reference. I am keeping it pretty simple here. Denim jacket or a plain chambray shirt would look great with this dress but I am just sticking to neither cz’ of the humid climate πŸ˜“. (I shall style it in different ways and share a post on my Instagram page (@theyellowpops) really soon.)

Who says floral dresses cannot be worn with sneakers? They are the smartest option, I would say. Also, I tried a different hairstyle here. Like it? πŸ™ˆ (Excuse the tired face though!)

Wearing my all time fav adidas sneakers here, and a layered necklace by Forever21. The handbag is easily 3 years old, from Mast & Harbour, Myntra, India.
